Press Release: Spelled Ink Opens Second Location

April 27, 2023

From April 28 – 29, Spelled Ink invites the communities of Culpeper and Orange to celebrate the grand opening of their second location in Culpeper, Va.

Almost a year and a half ago, Orange welcomed Spelled Ink, a tiny little independent bookstore, to the town. Now the bookshop is expanding, opening a new location in Culpeper. Both shops will continue to serve their communities, partnering with local businesses to bring the love of reading and art to the area.

Come out to the new store, located on the backside of 138 N. Main St. in Culpeper, to enjoy refreshments, door prizes and special sales throughout the weekend.

Local authors will be on site Saturday, art by local artists will be on display, and free face painting and coloring pages will be available for kids who come into the shop.

Spelled Ink also will be hosting a children’s book drive for the Boys and Girls Club of Orange and a canned food drive for the Culpeper Food Closet, so bring in your book donations and canned goods throughout the weekend.

There will be opportunities for visitors to sign up for all of Spelled Ink’s spring and summer offerings, including writing clubs, book art classes, manga club, book clubs and more.

Focused on highlighting diversity and spreading literacy, Spelled Ink is a women and veteran-owned bookshop that offers a wide variety of events and values community partnerships. They carry a mix of used and new titles, along with handmade and bookish gifts.

Spelled Ink Culpeper will be open each Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

Spelled Ink Orange, located at 132 W. Main St., is open Monday to Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
